If you understand this story, I need you to post some comments because what I'm about to write describes a phenomenon that I find utterly mystifying. Here's some background. Once upon a very long time ago, I wrote a small article on my icann.blog about "Z" domain names, describing how strings of Zs were registered as domain names from Z.com out into virtual ZZZZZZZZZZ.com infinity. (If I could find the article, buried somewhere in the archives of the Internet, I'd link it, but I can't.) which got me thinking about the strange sorts of domains you can find out there in the world. Like those I'm writing about today. Now, forget for a minute how I learned about "poop" names, but let's just say, the poop on poop names is very strange indeed.... Okay, so poop.com is registered. It's a silly little word, registered through Tucows with a private registration, and monetized with a parked page. Nothing new at all about that. You could have guessed that poop was registered. But pooop.com is registered too. Frank Schilling, who certainly knows what he's doing, has this one. Not as good as poop, but if you can't have poop, I can understanding wanting pooop. Could someone have registered poop with four "o"s? Of course they have. Five"o"s too: poooop.com. Surely it ends here, right? No, not even close. You have to go all the way out to 10 "o"s to find a poop name that has not been registered. As of the time this article was written, poooooooooop.com is still available. Get it while it lasts! Now poop names with elongated middle "o"s are certainly a strange phenomenon, but not as strange as double, triple and quadruple poop names. By this I mean that pooppoop.com is registered, as are pooppooppoop.com and pooppooppooppoop.com. If you're looking for a multiple poop name, you have to go out to quintuple poop to find one available for registration. A quick review of the whois records suggests that virtually all of these names, in both the poop "o" string names and the multi-poop names, are registered to different people. So what gives? Why on earth would anyone have registered these? The fact that I don't understand this phenomenon probably reveals why I'm just an amateur domainer. I probably need to attend a class on poop or something. P.S. And let's not forget the original poop name, the one with the truncated "o," that was one of the biggest .COM flops of the bubble-era. ;-)

"multi poop names"? That's funny phrase. I don't know much about domain name registration (only what I've read at work!) but this does seem bizarre.
I have a friend who is obsessed with all things poop. I bet if she thought about it, she might want a multi poop name. written by Nick Wilsdon, October 20, 2007
I think someone is messing with the domain tasters, maybe even trying to work out which Registrar is selling data. Try a few nonsense WHOIS queries, watch as they take the domain then make sure you visit it a few times to click the ads in the first week. Yep - they got stuck with poop.

Ok, I get what Frank Schilling is doing. I also get pooppoop.com. That's easy to remember as a URl so you can even build a site off it. The extra "o's," I'm in the dark too.

Not only that, but p00p.com (those are zeros) has been gone since 2004.
p0op.com po0p.com (that's one zero in each) are also gone! You need to add five i's before you get to a sh*t.com that is available. Only 3 a's to catch your own craaap.com I think this is more about Freud than domains. http://www.answers.com/topic/coprophilia written by Forum, April 02, 2008
I don't get it but poopers have gone wild if you ask me

There's a whole cult of poopers out (doodie.com for example).
I can just imagine the enormous amounts of direct-navigation traffic that poooooooop.com must get. I'll probably register a poop domain after reading this now. --Thanks for feeding the addiction Bret!
